The Shotgun Wedding Quintet

Origin: United States

Genres: Hip-hop, Jazz

Formed in 2003, San Francisco's Shotgun Wedding Quintet features some of the area's most sought-after musicians, including Adam Theis, founder of the collective Jazz Mafia, which the group is also part of. Delivering a unique blend of rap fusioned with traditional jazz and brass, the Shotgun Wedding Quintet manages to deliver a bold brass sound live by looping every musician's instruments, which in turn creates layers of music. With multi-instrumentalists Theis and Joe Cohen playing percussions, bass and many more, the group also features a live DJ, rapper Dublin, and drummer Pat Korte. In 2007, the group released The Shotgun Wedding Quintet.
