Belgrade-born Ana Popovic was raised on blues, thanks to her father's record collection and his regular jam sessions in the family garage. Naturally, young Ana took up guitar at 14, and in 1995, formed her first blues band, Hush. In 1999, Popovic released Hush's debut CD and moved to Amsterdam to study jazz at the Conservatory of Music. That same year, blues guitarist Bernard Allison invited Popovic to join him on stage during a show, and sent a copy of her album to German label Ruf, launching the release of two acclaimed albums and a blossoming career. After extensive world tours and playing the international blues/jazz festival circuit, Popovic signed her first American record deal with Electro Groove in 2007, releasing Comfort to the Soul (2007) and more recently Blind for Love (2009).
