Salsa inspired Latin group La-33 were formed in 2002, in Bogota, by brothers Sergio and Santiago Mejia. After releasing a first independent self-titled album in 2004, the group found acclaim worldwide in 2005 with the release of their mambo infused cover of Henry Mancini's Pink Panther Theme, (La Pantera Mambo), a track that quickly became a favourite among Mambo and Latin music DJs. After many cuts appearing on various Latin music compilations, the group released Gozalo in 2006, garnering them a Latin Grammy nomination. After worldwide tours and various accolades in their home country and beyond, La-33 released a third album, Ten Cuidado, in 2009.
