New York City based nine-piece outfit Red Baraat blends traditional Hindi songs and Bollywood hits along with original compositions. The group is led by percussionist Sunny Jain, renowned worldwide for his virtuosity with the dhol, a North Indian drum slung over the shoulder. This unique instrument inspired Jain to label Red Baraat's unconventional genre as "dhol‘n'brass". The group released a first album in 2010, Chaal Baby, after touring various World Music festivals around the United States, and recording the theme song to the 2009 movie The Yes Men Fix the World.
