Based in NYC but originally from Sacramento, CA, eclectic group !!! (Chk Chk Chk) were formed in 1996, when members of hardcore band Yah Mos decided to take on a more fun and dance approach to music. Singer Nic Offer quickly put together an eight-piece band, which included two percussionists and a horn section, as well as Justin Van Der Volgen on bass, John Pugh on drums, and guitarists Tyler Pope and Mario Andreoni. After issuing their first two albums and undertaking a series of successful tours, the group moved to NYC, and in 2003 released the popular Me and Giuliani Down by the School Yard (A True Story), which ranked them at the top of a new generation of disco-punk bands. High on their success, they quickly followed with Louden Up Now (2004), and Myth Takes (2007).
