David Finck

1958 -

Origin: United States

Main instrument: Bass/double bass/cello

Genre: Jazz

One of NYC's most sought-after musicians, David Finck's innovative bass and double bass work has been heard in over 100 recordings, including those of Sinead O'Connor, Natalie Cole, Elton John and Rod Stewart. He's also accompanied some of jazz's greatest legends on stage, namely Dizzy Gillespie, Tony Bennett, Rosemary Clooney and Woody Herman. Born into a musical family, the celebrated artist learned his instrument at the age of 10, and pursued his musical studies well into College, at Rochester's Eastman School of Music. A gifted and inspired musician, his virtuosity lies in his natural ability to take on any musical style with ease, be it Brazilian, pop, classical or jazz. In 2008, he released Future Day, a long-awaited first album as leader of the David Finck Quintet.
