Andreya Triana
Origin: United Kingdom
Main instrument:
Vocal
Genre: Electronica
Brighton soul singer Andreya Triana has been part of the UK's bubbling underground dance/soul music scene for quite some time, and her rich, deep vocals have been heard on popular UK dance singles such as hip hop act Flying Lotus's Tea Leaf Dancers (2007) and DJ Mr. Scruff's Hold On (2008). In 2005, she gained considerable notoriety with her innovative Freeflo Sessions, a one-woman show featuring only Andreya's improvised vocals, sampled live to various beats. In 2009, she was noticed by the BBC, who invited her to participate in their Introducing series, a yearly concert event aimed at promoting up-and-coming artists. Legendary UK label Ninja Tune took notice, and in 2010 released her first full-length album, Lost Where I Belong, produced by Ninja Tune star producer Bonobo.
