One of the most innovative and virtuoso Flamenco guitarists of our time, Juan Carmona started garnering worldwide attention from a very young age. Born in Lyons, France, in 1963, Carmona learned guitar from his father, and later studied the instrument at the prestigious National Conservatory of Music in Paris, where he honed his style to incorporate traditional Flamenco and other Mediterranean influences. In 1996, he gained star status in Spain after releasing Borboreo, in tribute to the city of Jerez. His numerous solo recordings have since accumulated countless world accolades, including a Latin Grammy nomination for his popular 2003 release, Orilla. As leader of the Juan Carmona Grupo, he has played on every continent and in 2010, the acclaimed guitarist released El Sentido del Aire.
