After a few years playing the electric guitar in various heavy metal and hard rock groups, Ontario-born Ewan Dobson immersed himself in learning the classical guitar with Dr. Alvin Tung, later on taking an interest in fingerstyle. Dobson quickly excelled in the latter, winning nearly every provincial or national fingerstyle competition he's participated in, until finally being declared Canadian Fingerstyle Champion in 2009. That same year, he won the first prize of the Acoustic contest at the Montréal Guitar Grand Prix and released his long awaited self-titled debut album with American fingerstyle label CandyRat.
