As a child, Armenian-born Tigran Hamasyan was already heavily moved by music, singing Led Zeppelin, Queen or Deep Purple while accompanying himself on the piano. At seven, he discovered a love for jazz and pursued classical music studies, composing his first pieces at the age of 10. In 1998 and 2000, the young prodigy performed to great acclaim at the Yerevan Jazz Festival, resulting in various contest prizes around the world, including top honours at Montreux in 2003. The following year saw the release of his long-awaited debut, World Passion. A collaborative effort with his long-time friends Louis and François Moutin, his sophomore effort New Era hit the stores in 2008. Formed in 2009, his new group Aratta Rebirth released Red Hail that same year. A Fable came out two years later.
