Steve Miller

1943 -

Origin: United States

Main instrument: Acoustic guitar/electric guitar

Genre: Rock

Steve Miller has enjoyed considerable success since the 1970s, thanks to a steady stream of classic hits like Fly like an Eagle or Abracadabra with The Steve Miller Band. Born in Milwaukee in 1943, Miller took his first guitar lessons at age 5 and studied under none other than guitar legend Les Paul, whom he remained close to until his death. After a move to San Francisco in the middle of its booming late ‘60s scene, he formed The Steve Miller Band, today a staple of blues rock and FM radio. Miller's albums are still regular top sellers and catalogue favourites, and the band never stops drawing fans to sold-out shows worldwide. In 1993, Steve Miller added another Top 40 hit to his roster with Wide River, as well as a best-selling retrospective box set. A new recording titled Bingo! came out in 2010, followed by Let Your Hair Down.
