Born in Copenhagen in 1948, Oskar Levetin Hansen - aka Lee Oskar - was 18 when he moved to the USA to try and make it as a professional musician. Soon, the young Dane was playing a leading role in the creation of West Coast latin/soul/funk combo War. Throughout the 1970s and beyond, Oskar's wailing solos were a crucial element of the band's sonic signature. As well as pursuing a solo career, the musician launched a successful business venture at the beginning of the 1980s. Still thriving today, the Lee Oskar Harmonica Company specialises in high end instruments which have been endorsed by many a connoisseur.
