Marilyn

Origin: United States

Main instrument: Vocal

Genre: Jazz

From a young age, Marilyn began singing in schoolyard a cappella groups that were popular in her Bronx neighbourhood at the time. The daughter of a Las Vegas comedian, Marilyn had show business in her blood and toured the United States in various pop, rock and soul groups while she was still a teenager. The vocalist discovered jazz on the road and released Romance Dance in 2006. Acclaimed for her honest and authoritative delivery, she has performed with leading jazz musicians such as Kenny Kirkland, Larry Willis, Jaco Pastorius, Buster Williams, Victor Jones and Buddy Williams. Marilyn attended the Festival in 2009, backed by the swinging Wray Downes Trio
