In early 2008, Steve Marriner (guitar, vocals, harmonica), Tony D. (guitar, vocals) and Matt Sobb (drums) combined their talents to form the trio MonkeyJunk - a name that refers to a song by legendary bluesman Son House. Six months later, the Toronto-based group was nominated for a Maple Blues Award. Of note: Each of the musicians has an already impressive track record. In spring 2009, the trio released its debut album, Tiger in Your Tank, which it will perform at the Festival's 30th edition. To Behold came out two years later.
