Boogie Boys
Origin: Poland
Genres: Big Band, Blues, Swing
The Boogie Boys - not to be confused with the defunct 1980s Harlem rap ensemble of the same name - is emerging as one of Europe's youngest piano bands and certainly as Poland's favourite new boogie-woogie ensemble. Pianists Bartlomiej Szopinski and Michal Cholewinski first met at a club in Poznan, and, along with Bartlomiej's younger brother, drummer Szymon, they formed the group in 2002. The trio has since toured Europe in 2004, visiting Austria, Germany, Belgium, France and the Netherlands, and participated in boogie master Vince Weber's 50th birthday celebrations.
