Canadian Tyler Hornby pursued jazz studies at the University of Calgary and the University of Colorado while building a successful career as a percussionist. In 2005, he released his debut album, Shadows of a Brighter Day, an acoustic jazz compilation featuring post-bop, contemporary and odd meter influenced original compositions. In addition to performing with his own quartet, Hornby often tours in Europe, and North and South America. In 2009, he hit the road with urban acoustic group Sillan & Young. The percussionist puts his wealth of experience to good use as director of the Drumset Educational Camp, held in Calgary each summer.
