Les Païens

Origin: New Brunswick, Canada

Genres: Fusion, Jazz, Rock

The instrumental quartet Les Païens is composed of Denis Surette (guitar), Marc Arsenault (bass), John Surette (drums) and Sebastien Michaud (trumpet, saxophone and flute). They first started recording in 1994, and the album Cougar slices à vendre came the following year. Since then, the Acadian group has been developing its sound, which is inspired as much by Miles Davis, Mahavishnu Orchestra and Frank Zappa as American post-rock band Tortoise.
