Neil Cowley
Origin: United Kingdom
Main instrument:
Piano
Genre: Jazz
A 10-year-old piano prodigy, Neil Cowley performed a Shostakovich concerto at London's Queen Elizabeth Hall. He soon expanded his musical talents to include jazz and pop, but continues to impress audiences with his "jazzy chill-out" compositions. After playing with several bands, including Zero 7, he formed his own ensemble. In 2006, the Neil Cowley Trio released their debut, Displaced, on Cowley's newly established Hide Inside Records, winning Best Album at the 2007 BBC JAZZ AWARDS. Two years later, the group's sophomore album Loud. Louder... Stop! met equally amplified applause. Radio Silence came along in 2010, followed by The Face of Mount Molehill two years later.
