This British quintet was weaned on sexy soul, wild garage rock and raw funk. Led by a singer with Prince-like qualities, The Heavy band delivers a high-test musical cocktail shot through with furious guitars, a rock-steady and powerful rhythm section, and vintage-sounding keyboards and sequences. It's hot, heavy, groovy and melodic. The group's first CD, Great Vengeance and Furious Fire, was released in 2007 on Counter, a rock sub-label of Ninja Tune. The House That Dirt Built followed two years later.
