Parc X Trio

Origin: Quebec, Canada

Genre: Jazz

Parc X Trio is made up of Alex Lefaivre on upright bass, Gabriel Vinuela-Pelletier on piano and Mark Nelson on the drums. This instrumental jazz ensemble flirts on the edges of pop and world music, guided by their desire to create a sound that reflects the cultural diversity their neighbourhood, Parc-Extension, as well as the city of Montréal. The trio was formed in 2007 and has since appeared in many bars and festivals around town, playing original compositions and arrangements of well-known tunes, with their first album coming out in the spring of 2009. As part of  the 30th edition of the Festival, Parc X Trio took part in the competition for the General Motors Grand Jazz Award, before being awarded the TD Jazz Grand Prix the following year. Cent questions sans réponse appeared in June 2011.
