Monte Montgomery is known for his inventiveness on the guitar. Making his mark playing in the vast network of Texas bars, he didn't have to wait very long before his reputation as a virtuoso crossed state lines, thanks to an appearance on the show, Austin City Limits. He has set a record for being named "Best Acoustic Guitarist" at the Austin Music Awards, winning seven straight years in a row. In 2008, moving more in the direction of rock, Americana, blues and pop, he released a self-titled album, featuring his cover of the Jimi Hendrix classic, Little Wing.
