Gambian singer and musician Juldeh Camara, a true griot storyteller, is a widely acknowledged master of the riti, the traditional single-string violin played throughout West Africa. Discovered by Bill Laswell in the 90s, Camara has performed with Dee Ellington, Boka Halat and Zubop. Since 2007 he has worked with Justin Adams, the guitarist with Robert Plant's band, on the albums Soul Science and Tell No Lies, where Gambian music meets London punk.
