This Buenos Aires-based group completed its first European tour in 2007. Created by ex-pianist Julián Peralta, whose poetic approach is intended to bring out the innermost essence of Argentine music. Peralta has given himself a mission to range beyond the confines of tango, simply to create art. As well as compose their own music, the sextet uses on-stage video projections to enhance the audience experience. The voice of the new post-Piazzola generation, Astillero lends renown to tango nuevo in the four corners of the world.
