Glenn Miller Orchestra
Origin: United States
Genre: Big Band
Founded in 1956, the Glenn Miller Orchestra is the deserving descendent of the original Glenn Miller Orchestra founded by Miller himself in 1938. The band is now directed by American trombonist Larry O'Brien and gives some 300 live performances every year all over the world. Its repertoire, a mix of instrumental and vocal works featuring singer Julia Richs, spotlights the big-band style classics such as Moonlight Serenade, Tuxedo Junction and Perfidia. Despite its traditional big-band leanings, the GMO still makes room in its performances for tunes of more recent vintage.
