In 1987, Thierry Crommen decided, at the age of 29, to become a professional musician rather than continuing a career in psychology. After contributing to numerous live and studio recordings as well as television shows, the self-taught harmonica player collaborated with renowned guitarist Jacques Stotzem on Different Ways in 1997. Crommen recruited keyboardist Erno and acoustic guitarist Chris de Pauws to form his self-titled trio, which released La Nouvelle Donne in 2004. Three years later, double bassist Achim Tang joined the trio on the album Versions Originales.
