First and foremost the story of one man-multi-instrumentalist Meric Long-the Dodos' star began to rise with the arrival of Logan Kroeber, who's credited with adding an experimental and rock-inspired colour to the folk, blues and West African influences of Long. First known as the Dodo Birds, the duo opted for The Dodos simply because that's what fans were calling them. After two CDs, Beware of the Maniacs (2006) and Visiter (2008), Long and Kroeber invited xylophonist and pianist Joe Haener to join the group.
