Coral Egan

Origin: Quebec, Canada

Main instrument: Vocal

Genres: Jazz, Pop

At age 11, Coral Egan made her debut at the Festival with an a cappella solo. The daughter of Montreal singer Karen Young, Egan's music education unsurprisingly started from a young age with backstage naps and studio play dates. The singer has forged an impressive career in Canada and beyond since the release of her 2002 debut, The Path of Least Resistance, which earned her a Juno nomination for "Jazz Vocalist of the Year." My Favourite Distraction followed two years later, featuring Egan's self-penned compositions. In 2007, she released Magnify, a collection of soul, folk and bluegrass inflected compositions that let her singular voice shine through. The Year He Drove Me Crazy came out five years later.
