Quartango
Origin: Quebec, Canada
Genres: Jazz, Latin
Marking their 25th anniversary in 2009, Montréal's Quartango have been sharing their passion for the tango since the release of their first album, Musica Viva, in 1986. With a wealth of accolades and awards accumulated over the years, the group's breathtaking blend of contemporary jazz with traditional tango, mixed with elements of classical music, has been performed on some of the world's most prestigious stages, including Carnegie Hall with the New York Pops, as well as Paris, Tokyo and all over Canada. With their humor and catchy onstage chemistry, the quartet has charmed critics and fans at every show, with a repertoire that brilliantly explores beyond the classic tango, Piazzolla and tango nuevo. In 2009, Quartango released El Fuego, to great acclaim.
