Singer-songwriter, actor, filmmaker and social activist Dan Bigras first burst on the Quebec music scene in the 1980s, singing in bars around Montréal. In 1992, he shot to fame with the release of Tue-moi. The singer subsequently released a series of popular albums throughout the 1990s and 2000s, all the while taking on more and more social causes both in his public life and through his music, most especially those relating to the needs of children or the homeless. In 2008, he released the popular and gold-selling album Duos de la tendresse, a duet album featuring some of Québec's most popular songstresses. The following year, he joined forces with the Montreal All City Big Band and released FAN, an album of classic American R&B covers. His alum Le sans visage came out in 2014.
