A native of Havre-Saint-Pierre, Valérie Cormier studied classical piano from the age of five. She developed her craft in college and then, at university. The versatile musician plays piano, keyboards and accordion, in addition to serving as a composer and a conductor. She has accompanied several local artists on international stages, such as Éric Lapointe, Lhasa de Sela, Michel Rivard and Stefie Shock. Cormier also composes songs for film, television shows and advertisements. In 2009, she presented her lounge-electro-pop pieces at the Festival.
