Le Large Ensemble

Origin: Québec, Canada

Le Large Ensemble first burst onto the scene at the 2002 Festival International de Jazz de Montréal. At the time, the group was a collection of musicians and friends brought together by keyboardist Dan Thouin. Over the years, several talented artists have contributed, including Fred Fortin (bass), Olivier Langevin (guitar), Yannick Rieu (saxophone) and Alain Bergé (drummer). Their compositions are recorded live, and the collective, drawing on their musical instincts, integrate improvisation and experimentation sessions in the manner of Miles Davis.
