Genre-defying singer-songwriter Nellie McKay has tried her hand at vocal jazz, pop, folk, cabaret and film music. UK-born but US-raised, this versatile multi-instrumentalist started her career in the early 2000s on the Manhattan club circuit. In 2004, she recorded her debut album, Get Away from Me, with the help of erstwhile Beatles sound engineer Geoff Emerick. Two years later, McKay took on a co-starring role in a Broadway production of The Threepenny Opera. Normal as Blueberry Pie, her CD tribute to actress and songstress Doris Day, followed in 2009. Home Sweet Mobile Home followed a year later.
