Lenny White
1949 -
Origin: United States
Main instrument:
Drums/percussion
Genres: Fusion, Jazz
Lenny White began playing the drums at age 14, and before turning 20, he was invited by Miles Davis to work on the 1969 opus, Bitches Brew. The rest of White's career path is equally remarkable. Always in high demand for his versatile style, he has worked with Freddie Hubbard, Gil Evans, Stan Getz and Joe Henderson, to name a few. In 1973, Chick Corea invited him to join the jazz fusion group Return To Forever. White went on to lead his own orchestra, and during the 1980s, he added the title of producer to an already extensive resume.
