The Bell Orchestre
Origin: Québec, Canada
Genre: Rock
The Bell Orchestre is a team of all-stars from Montreal's indie rock scene. When they aren't playing together, some of its members work with Arcade Fie, Snailhouse, Torngat and The Luyas. Among the instrumental group's wide-ranging influences are Lee "Scratch" Perry, Talk Talk, Arvo Pärt and the Penguin Café Orchestra. While the Bell Orchestre was formed in 2003, its first CD, Recording a Tape in the Colour of the Light, was only released in 2005. The second, As Seen Through Windows, was put out in 2009 on the Toronto-based label, Arts & Crafts.
