Paris based trio Gotan Project formed in 1999, with Philippe Cohen Solal, Christoph H. Müller (Boys from Brazil, Stereo Action Unlimited) and Eduardo Makaroff. The group quickly found worldwide fame and acclaim by creating a new sound, uniquely blending Argentinean Tango and Latin music with dub and electronica. After releasing a series of 10 inch singles, Gotan Project released their first album La revencha del tango in 2001, spawning an extensive worldwide tour. Their long-awaited and lauded sophomore album, Lunatico, named after Tango legend Carlos Gardel's racehorse, was released five years later. After more than 400 concerts worldwide and 2 million albums sold, the trio released Tango 3.0 in 2010, this time adding a touch of jazz and blues to the mix.
