Les Primitifs Du Futur
Origin: France
Genres: Jazz, World
Reviving the musical genre of "world musette" (also the title of their third album), Les Primitifs du Futur is an eclectic and experimental band composed of more than ten members. Founded in 1986 by guitarist Dominique Cravic and cartoonist Robert Crumb, who plays banjo and mandolin in addition to illustrating the distinctive album art, the group interprets swing, polka, folk and gypsy music with unusual instruments such as the "jazzo-flute" and "cabrette." The result sound is accordion-rich and cheerily nostalgic. In 2008, Les Primitifs du Futur released its latest album, Tribal Musette.
