Torontonian David Rotundo acquired his first harmonica after seeing James Cotton give a performance in 1991. Six years later, the musician formed The Blue Canadians, which appeared at venues across the city. In 2001, the band released Blowin' For Broke, a successful debut. In 2003, the David Rotundo Band launched, incorporating new recruit guitarist Enrico Crivellaro. The album Blues Ignited appeared that same year. In 2007, Rotundo received a Prix Étoile Galaxie from Radio-Canada. Two years later, he launched the aptly titled No Looking Back.
