The Planet Smashers
Origin: Quebec, Canada
Based out of Montréal, The Planet Smashers were formed in 1994 during the ska revival craze of the time. Nicknamed the "Kings of ska" by local fans, the group released a self-titled debut in 1996 on their label STOMP, after two years of energetic live concerts. The sophomore release Attack of the Planet Smashers was issued a year later, at a time when the band was already enjoying national success. Throughout the following decade, the band released a series of well-received albums, both by fans and critics, including No Self Control in 2001. Three years later, The Planet Smashers celebrated their 10th anniversary with the release of the commemorative DVD Ten, featuring videos, live footage and interviews with band members. In 2005, the band issued their sixth album, Unstoppable.
