Born and raised in Quebec's Lac St-Jean region, fusion jazz guitarist Carl Naud earned his Bachelor's degree in jazz performance from Université de Montréal in 1997. His career took off soon after, performing with various jazz, blues or rock ensembles in Quebec. As a sideman, Naud has also collaborated with a great number of Quebec artists, including Rémi Bolduc and Terez Montcalm. In 2000, the guitarist released his debut album, Ouverture, on Effendi, followed by L'Ascenseur in 2009, featuring pianist John Roney, saxophonist David Bellemare, and bassist Rémi-Jean Leblanc.
