Jane Monheit's career started with a bang: after winning a $10,000 scolarship at the 1998 Thelonious Monk Institute vocal competition, the Long Island native signed a record contract with N-Coded and started work on her first album. Never Never Land (2000) was recorded with some help from Kenny Barron, Ron Carter and Bucky Pizzarelli, to name but a few. The singer released a string of records during the following decade, including Come Dream with Me (2001), Taking a Chance on Love (2004), The Season (2005) Surrender (2007) and The Lovers, the Dreamers and Me (2009). For Home (2010), Monheit made her debut as producer.
