Guitarist Kevin Moore grew up in Los Angeles, but draws on the distinctive Delta blues sound and rich storytelling traditions of his Deep South roots. While in his early 20s, the musician toured with Papa John Creach, for whom he also contributed to three albums, and later opened for the Mahavishnu Orchestra and Jefferson Starship. In 1994, Moore adopted the stage name Keb' Mo' and released his self-titled debut. The follow-up, Just Like You (1996), brought a rock sensibility to his blues-based sound and won the Grammy for Best Contemporary Blues Album. In 2006, Mo' released his eighth studio album, Suitcase, a meditation on "emotional baggage."
