In little time, guitarist Denis Chang has become the top jazz improvist in Quebec. Citing Django Reinhardt as a major influence, he studied with great guitar masters such Fapy Lafertin, Ritary Gaguenetti and Emmanuel Kassimo. An active musician, Chang has appeared in cities around the United States and Europe. His talents as a teacher are also highly sought after: In addition to conducting workshops, the guitarist has released a series of educational DVDs. In 2009, he participated in the Festival's Salon des instruments de musique du Montreal (SIMM). Chang came back the next year to play three nights as part of the Musique au Balmoral series.
