Peppino D'Agostino
Origin: Italia / United States
Main instrument:
Acoustic guitar/electric guitar
Genres: Fusion, Jazz, Latin
Italian-born guitar virtuoso Peppino D'Agostino runs the musical gamut from jazz, flamenco and pop to folk rock. He discovered the acoustic guitar at age 10 and eventually spawned a passion for world music and the progressive rock of the 1970s. His first album was released in 1981. Successful collaborations soon followed with jazz-rock fusion master Stef Burns. While D'Agostino has lived in the U.S. since the 1980s, his attachment to his native Italy still runs deep, as evidenced by his compositions, some inspired by his hero Ennio Morricone.
