Jireh Gospel Choir

Origin: Québec, Canada

Genre: Gospel

The Montreal choir, founded in 1996 by Carol Bernard, has built a solid reputation leading to collaborations with internationally renowned artists, and winning itself an enviable place in gospel music. Consisting of a dozen singers celebrated for their vocal excellence, and an incredible troupe of musicians, they cover the entire spectrum of black music, from negro spirituals right up to contemporary forms including hip-hop. In 2012, the group received the award for Gospel Song of the Year for Quoi qu’il arrive and in 2015, the Gospel Music Association of Canada presented them with the prestigious Gospel Album of the Year award for Get Up. Performing both the great gospel classics and original compositions, the Jireh Gospel Choir fuses authenticity and daring, joy and depth, with boundless respect for the spirit and traditions of the genre.
