Julie Lamontagne

Origin: Québec, Canada

Main instrument: Piano

Genres: Jazz, Pop

Pianist, keyboardist and composer Julie Lamontagne has followed a fascinating career path. Classically trained, she discovered her passion for jazz early on, and she has a soft spot for pop music. Riding the wave of her highly successful 2005 debut jazz album Facing the Truth, Lamontagne returned in 2009 with a second album entitled Now What on the Justin Time label, in the company of her trio and New York saxman Donny McCaslin. Lamontagne regularly accompanies Quebec artists such as Isabelle Boulay and Bruno Pelletier, and was the official pianist for Monique Giroux's daily radio program on Radio-Canada's Espace Musique. Opus jazz was released in 2012.
