Consisting of three brothers and a son, American gospel group the Campbell Brothers are natives of the village of Rush in New York State, and are renowned for their sacred steel gospel style, emanating from the African-American evangelical tradition. Their sound is built around pedal steel guitar; Chuck Campbell has developed a style on the instrument that is all his own. In the ’90s, the group released a number of albums on blues label Arhoolie Records, before moving on to Ropeadope Records after 2000. Their major successes include the album Can You Feel It?, released in en 2005, landed in the Billboard charts. Onstage, the group is often accompanied by guest singers including Denise Brown, Katie Jackson and Malcolm Kirby.
