An accomplished clarinettist, saxophonist, composer and arranger, acclaimed musician and activist Don Byron has been a unique voice and artist in the American musical sphere for the last two decades. Born in 1958 and raised in Brooklyn, NY, the versatile multi-instrumentalist easily breathes new life in any musical genre he touches, with a style reminiscent of Dizzy Gillespie or Miles Davis. An active player, the musician has taken part in countless music projects throughout his career, and has held various university residencies as a teacher, most recently at the American Academy in Rome, where, in 2009 and 2010, he was composing his first opera. A prolific artist, he has released multiple solo albums since 1992, including Do the Boomerang: the Music of Junior Walker in 2006, on Blue Note.
