Auguste Quintette
Origin: Québec, Canada
Genre: Jazz
The Auguste Quintet was formed by Alain Bédard in the mid-1990s. It is one of the many on-going projects of this versatile artist. Also a composer and a producer, he's the head of Effendi Records, who turned 10 in 2009. The label released the second Auguste album, Bluesy Lunedi, in 2008. On this sophomore effort, Bédard picked up his acoustic bass and teamed up with saxophonists Frank Lozano and Jean-Christophe Béney, pianist Alexandre Grogg and drummer Pierre Tanguay. The five players reconvened at the Festival's 30th edition.
