PapaGroove

2006 -

Origin: Quebec, Canada

Genre: R&B/Soul/Funk

Hailed as a "great party band with the right political message," PapaGroove is fast becoming Montreal's big daddy of funk with a social conscience. Led by vocalist Sebastien Francisque, the dozen musicians, including a five-strong horn section, are an afro-funk tour de force, performing highly infectious grooves that keep audiences on their feet. In 2008, the group released its debut We're Not Blind - nor, apparently, is this 13-piece outfit hard of hearing. Civilized Ghetto followed in 2012.
