Montrealer Térez Montcalm picked up the guitar at an early age, influenced by her brother, who introduced her to all kinds of music, especially Elvis and Jimi Hendrix. In 1994, she released an album called Risque, featuring covers of classic tunes and original compositions. This record earned the raspy-voiced singer-songwriter five nominations at the ADISQ Gala. From 1997 to 2002, she made two more albums and then came out with an album in English, Voodoo, in 2006 produced by Michel Cusson. She followed it up with a successful tour of Europe and then in 2009, she collaborated again with Cusson on the album Connection. Here's to You - Songs for Shirley Horn followed two years later, followed by I'll Be Alright in 2013. With Quand on s'aime, released in 2015, the artist offered a jazz album steeped in the French repertoire.
